Turkey says will tell Tillerson it wants to mend trust with U.S.

During his visit to Mexico City on Friday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was carefully trying to explain to his counterparts from Mexico and Canada just why the United States’ efforts to restrict both legal and illegal immigration are not mean-spirited.

The United States is considering imposing sanctions on Venezuela that could cripple its oil industry and is probing whether the plan would be supported in the region, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Sunday in Argentina.

U.S. relations with Mexico have been in a tailspin for the last year over President Trump’s anti-immigrant jibes, his threats to scuttle a crucial trade pact, demands that Mexico pay for a border wall and his apparent antipathy toward Mexico’s president.

Turkey will tell U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson the two countries must repair damaged mutual trust, its foreign minister said on Tuesday, following a series of disagreements, especially over the Syria crisis.
